Starting at just 4.7 lbs the Mark V® Backcountry™ Ti was purpose-built to be the best lightweight mountain rifle on the market. It features Peak 44’s Blacktooth carbon fiber stock which weighs only 19oz making it one of the lightest production stocks on the market. Equipped with an Accubreak and 3D Hex Recoil pad, the Backcountry 2.0 series manages recoil extremely well even with Weatherby’s historic magnum cartridges. The titanium action has an incredible strength-to-weight ratio cutting even more weight than the standard steel action. When ounces and accuracy matter grab the Backcountry Ti.

The lightest/fastest hunting rifle on the market

Starting at just 4.7 lbs and 4.9 lbs in magnum chamberings, this is the lightest in the Backcountry 2.0 family. When chambered in 6.5 WBY RPM, it holds the crown as the lightest/fastest hunting rifle on the market. Still equipped with a super thin and lightweight fluted barrel, it is contoured at a #1 MOD or #2 MOD depending on the chambering.

The most noticeable upgrade is the new carbon fiber Peak 44™ Blacktooth™ stock, the lightest versions of which tip the scales at under 20 ounces. Also grabbing the eye is the second generation 3DHEX® recoil pad, the first production 3D printed pad the firearms world has seen. Hidden inside the pad are a series of interlocking voids that progressively collapse during recoil, deadening the sharp kick of magnum chamberings.

More pronounced spiral fluting on the bolt body not only trims a little weight, it also reduces bearing surface within the action and results in even smoother function. The newly-threaded bolt handle is equipped with a lightweight aluminum extended and skeletonized knob.

Fit with the highly-effective Accubrake® ST, with 30 symmetrically-spaced ports that help harness the recoil, it tames even magnum chamberings and makes them pleasant to shoot.

TriggerTech’s trigger provides true zero-creep break, extremely short over-travel, and is externally adjustable. Precision cut stainless steel components ensure consistent trigger pulls from shot to shot in a safe, reliable, and corrosion resistant package.

Accubrake ST

By adding an Accubrake ST you will significantly reduce felt recoil up to 53%. Available in four different barrel diameters, with thread protector, for a perfect brake-to-barrel contour.

54 Degree Bolt

The shortest in the industry (as compared to typical 90 bolt throw). Allows for faster chambering on follow-up shots and greater bolt-to-scope clearance.

Titanium Receiver

Titanium properties present 42% the weight of traditional steel which provides maximum weight savings for the hunter looking to save every ounce while maintaining structural integrity.

Deep Fluted Bolt

A larger radius, deeper flute not only trims a bit more weight from the bolt body of the Mark V, it also increases the smoothness with which the bolt can be cycled.

Removable Bolt Knob

Allowing for customization and utility, the bolt handle of the Mark V is now threaded to accept a variety of bolt knobs

    I Bought 2 when they first came out…300 Wby…257 Wby…they are both the finest rifles I have ever owned and MADE IN THE USA !!! and I have owned a BUNCH !!!

    Picked one up at a little gun store in south Colorado. Bought what ammo they had in stock (225 grain Interlock). Big game seasons are over for the next 8 months but figured why not try it on some wild hogs down in Louisiana. I sighted it in the morning I left to come down, one ragged hole group at 100 yards, 3 inches high, chronographed within 5fps of each other and makes it dead on at 250 yards. Usually I like a tougher bullet like a partition or Scirocco but with the velocity I’ll stick with an interlock for now. Shot 3 hogs, max distance was about 190, closest was 40. A bit overkill and at $5 a round I’m good with it, I’ll just skip getting a quarter pounder tomorrow… great gun, lightweight even with a leupold vx3hd and a Harris bipod. On complaint is weatherby won’t give me their proprietary load data so I can start playing with different loads. I mean I feel like it should come with some data for the cost (sarcasm).
