When you buy the best you are always happy with it. I own Weatherby Shotguns which are amazing and Weatherby Rifles and find their construction and actions to be amazing! I am lucky I can buy whatever I want. I want Weatherby because of the quality and capability. They make me a better hunter and a better sportsmen. I am especially impressed with the Weatherby weapon quality. It is clear to me that they think things through and don’t skimp on quality and in turn my ability is enhanced because of the confidence I have in their product.

Bought this rifle last year in 375 H&H cal. Took it to Alaska for Brown bear hunt. On second day of hunt, was fortunate enough to come upon big brown bear. Wind shifted and bear stood up on hind legs as he caught our scent from 150 yds away. One shot in chest knocked bear down. By the time we reached him, he was dead. My 2nd hunt in Africa I took down 39″ Cape Buffalo. Single shot. Thus far, this gun has been everything I could ask for in big game rifle. Was looking at the 416, but for time being, the 375 H&H has performed spectacular.

Mark V riffle is the best riffle I have ever owned. I was stun by its precise accuracy. I used Mark V 460 Deluxe on water buffalo. believe, it took just one shot. I was so pleased that I recently added Mark V 416 safari to my collection. I love it. Recommend to any one for big games

I have used the Weatherby Safari rifle in .375 H&H on 3 African safaris with outstanding success. The ultra smooth hand honed action was definitely a boon when I had to use 2 follow up shots in rapid succession to procure my bull Elephant (50lbs tusks each side). I’ve also taken a massive 41″ Cape buffalo with one shot. Huge 550lb male Lion and a beautiful leopard (one shot kills). Ammunition used was Woodleigh 300 gr. Hydrostatic brass solids (undoubtedly the best bullet I’ve used on 7 African safaris!!!) I’ve also taken many plains game with this bullet as the hydrostatic effect is absolutely amazing!! The rifle itself is beautiful in presentation and seems to get more handsome with age!! One day I hope I can complete my Big 5 dream (White Rhino of course) with this beautiful, accurate rifle.

I have three Mark V Safari Rifles. At my peak of owning rifles intended for dangerous game, I had at least 30 from various makers chambered for the 375 H&H on up. Here’s what I have discovered over some four decades of enjoying the big bores… Weatherby provides the absolute most for the money spent. The Safari Rifle isn’t cheap, but no other maker comes close on wood grading or actual field performance. Each time when my new Mark V Safari arrived (375 H&H, 416 Wby Mag, 460 Wby Mag), I was taken back by what I felt was astoundingly better stock figure and layout than I had paid for. From the standing bench rest (it’s not best to sit down for these rounds), even the 460 shoots right at an inch. The other two are tighter yet. I’ve owned similar-caliber rifles that were priced in the five figures, and they didn’t come anywhere close to that performance. As I reduce out my considerable stash of fine rifles, I have moved the Weatherbys to the “keep em’ forever” vault.
