The first thing you’ll notice about about the Vanguard High Country, aside from Weatherby’s legendary fit and finish, is the stock. The Monte Carlo design, complete with a right-side palm swell and textured forearm and grip areas, is appointed with tan & green Accents.
FINISH
Barrel/Receiver/Bolt/Bolt Knob/Safety – FDE Cerakote
Stock – Black polymer Monte Carlo stock with tan and green sponge accents

I bought one in .308. It is light and very easy to carry. It’s everything a hunting rifle should be. Very impressed.

my rifle is new ready to shoot is the barrel supposed to be full floated .

This is the second Weatherby Vanguard I’ve bought this year. My first one was the “Talus” (Meat Eater clone) in .300 Win Mag which shoots 3/4” groups at 100 yards. This rifle though shoots less that 1/2” groups at 100 yards consistently.
Chambered in .308 Winchester, this has made an awesome hunting rifle for my wife who has taken her first deer this year. But … I had to modify the stock color because my wife didn’t like the factory color (sorry Weatherby) – she likes Turquoise.
I am amazed at the attention to detail and character in each one of these rifles, not to mention the superb accuracy. I wish they made this exact model in .243 Win and 25-06 Rem because I’d buy a couple more.
This rifle has it all, fluted barrel, muzzle brake and an awesome two stage trigger. Hurry, GO GET ONE!!!

Weatherby High Country 6.5 prc. This is the most bad ass, quality built, accurate out of the box rifle I have ever shot period! Did my barrel break in, then zeroed @ 100 yds. Then shot 2, 3 shot groups. First 3 shot group measured 1/2 inch the second exactly 3/8 inch. Weatherby guarantees 3 shot sub MOA @ 100 yards within 2 years of purchase, using Weatherby or premium ammunition. Hornady 147 grain ELD M ammo, did this without breathing hard, and my rifle is only a month old.
